A Very Cautious Gym Opening After the Covid Pandemic

Apr 28, 2020

In these uncertain times, we are doing our best to function as a responsible business. As of 4.24.20, the Governor of Georgia has allowed gyms to reopen. We were weary to do that at first, but have taken the week to discuss how we might be able to safely do that while keeping the health of our staff and our members top of mind. As a small business, we want to keep operating to make sure that our staff can be compensated, but we do not want to endanger anyone in any way. So we have come up with a plan to open our doors while following all the Governor’s recommendations, and additional taking our own extra precautions.

That being said, we are open to come get your workout on! However, you must follow the guidelines we have listed below:

American Bodyworks (ABW) will be open only during staffed hours.  While these provisions are in place, hours will be as follows:

  • Monday thru Friday- 7 am to 7 pm
  • Saturday- 8 am to 2 pm.
  • Sunday- Closed

Please do not enter if you have been diagnosed with Covid19, had symptoms of Covid19, or been exposed to anyone diagnosed with or suspected to have Covid19.

Please be sure to check-in at the front desk upon entry so we can track who is in the gym at all times and for a contactless temperature screening. Entry will be denied for anyone who has a fever of 100.4 or above. If you have been sick in the last 7 days or feel sick, please do not come to the gym.

Masks are strongly encouraged to be worn at all times in the gym. We will have a limited number of disposable masks available but supplies are limited. So please try to provide your own mask. A simple bandana or rag will suffice. The intent is to keep the mask wearer from spreading any possible germs or bacteria.

Please use the provided hand sanitizer upon entry and exit from the gym.

Please spray and wipe down all equipment before and after use. Staff will be working hard to sanitize and clean on an ongoing basis.

A minimum of 6’ must be maintained between all occupants at all times.  If this distance cannot be maintained, we will limit gym access until such time as safe distances can be maintained.

Access to some of the cardio machines will be limited to ensure compliance with the 6’ minimum distance.

If using the shower, please spray down with the provided sanitizer after use.

Only one person is allowed to use locker rooms at a time. Please spray all contacted surfaces with the provided sanitizer after use.

Fortitude classes will not resume at this time.

Please complete your workout and exit the gym without unnecessary delay.

Thank you for helping us make ABW a safe place for everyone!
